Hello contributors! This talk is about how I got introduced to Zephyr RTOS and my journey as a contributor with OpenPrinting. I will dive into my Google Summer of Code (GSoC) project, sharing how OpenPrinting and Zephyr actually work together under the hood.
I'll share the real story of how I got selected by OpenPrinting and how I spent my summer working closely with printers. We will explore how things like the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and mDNS operate in an embedded environment, the unexpected challenges I faced along the way, and exactly how I overcame them.

This talk focuses on the hands on work from my GSoC project, giving attendees a real world look at open source printing architecture and my experience collaborating with the OpenPrinting community. The topic is technical in nature, focusing on embedded systems and network protocols, and the audience will get to know more about how tools like CUPS, PAPPL, IPP, PDFIO, and mDNS work together.

Hello! I am Omkar Nanajkar, a third year Electronics and Telecommunication (EXTC) student at VJTI, Mumbai. I am currently a Google Summer of Code (GSoC) contributor with OpenPrinting. I love building cool things, designing custom shaped PCBs, and writing firmware for them. Previously, I worked with Zephyr RTOS during my time as a product design intern. I actively participate in hackathons both inside and outside of Mumbai, and I also serve as the Electronics Head at the Society of Robotics and Automation (SRA), VJTI.
