Call for Abstracts

  • Opening day
  • Submission deadline

NOTE: If you want to contribute to the UbuCon India, please choose the "UbuCon India" track. In this case the selection is done by a committee of the Ubuntu Local Community (LoCo) India.

We are eager to hear you telling us about amazing things with free software, your projects, your contributions, how you got into it, how you made others join, what do you recommend to others, ... Present it to us in a talk (example) or lightning talk (example 1, example 2).

You have deep knowledge about a subject matter and want to help others? Run a questions&answers session! Or teach your knowledge in an interactive workshop with hands-on exercises! The workshops will take place in a classroom with tables and power outlets for the attendees to do the exercises on their own laptops (example 1, example 2, example 3).

Have a group of people to talk or discuss about a subject with each other on stage, or you are a podcaster and want to produce an episode live on stage with audience? Propose your panel session (example 1, example 2)!

You have some great plan or idea and want to make use of being on the conference and informally discuss it? Or a leading developer or the lead of your organization comes to India from overseas and wants to meet the Indian community? Your Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF) or meet-up session is more than welcome!

You have something amazing to show to the attendees to try it out hands-on? Like a robot, a plotter, an open-source-based kiosk system, an immutable Linux distribution, ... Bring it and show it on a demo table/booth in the lunch and/or coffee breaks. Also this is a way to present your open-source organization and talk with attendees about it. Please submit your proposal here (example)

You have participated in lots of Hackatons and loved them? And especially you have even organized one or another hackaton and attendees found it awesome? Then submit your ideas and we will look into adding a hackathon to our event.

And the special fun point of a conference are always the social events in the evening after all the talks. We are excited about your ideas for such an event, like a gaming night, a knitting course, or perhaps a wokshop about Asian cooking? Please submit your ideas as Evening Fun! (example 1, example 2)

And an important note: For all types of sessions there can be a single speaker/host or various, or even the host inviting people from the audience onto the stage spontaneously.
