Speaker
Description
In the rush to deliver code faster, we are often relying outsourcing our thinking to generative AI. But what happens when the prompt fails, the abstractions break, and are left facing critical failures? This talk shares a raw, honest look at personal engineering journey that nearly derailed due to an over-reliance on AI and the critical shift back to first-principles thinking that saved the project.
Session author's bio
I am a systems software developer and open-source contributor who loves living in the terminal and working with low-level C, C++. My journey into open-source kicked into high-gear during Google Summer of Code 2024, where I spent my time migrating libcupsfilters(CUPS printing backend) from C++ to C. I am currently in process of developing the first fully permissible PDF renderer.
