Description

In this story-driven session, attendees will step into the role of a digital forensic investigator and use Velociraptor, an open-source Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) platform, to investigate a simulated cyber attack from start to finish. Rather than presenting features slide by slide, we'll work through a realistic incident, collecting forensic artifacts, querying endpoints with VQL, uncovering persistence mechanisms, analysing Windows event logs, and reconstructing the attack timeline to understand exactly what happened.Along the way, attendees will learn how modern incident response teams approach investigations, how Velociraptor enables rapid threat hunting at scale, and why open-source DFIR tooling has become an essential part of today's defensive security toolkit.

Any other info we should know?

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to: Understand the fundamentals of Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR)
Deploy and navigate Velociraptor for endpoint investigations Use VQL to collect and analyse forensic artifacts Identify common persistence mechanisms used by attackers Build an attack timeline from forensic evidence Apply open-source tools to investigate security incidents without commercial EDR solutions.
