We have some fun and exciting activities planned this weekend! These activities are a great opportunity to get together with other summit participants, socialise with old friends, and make new ones too.
You must bring your badge to all summit social events.
Day 1 (Friday): Welcome Reception/Opening Mixer
For the first day of the Ubuntu Summit, we will be hosting a casual welcome reception between 6PM to 8PM. Get to know fellow Summit attendees ahead of time in a comfortable setting. Appetisers will be served during the reception, but are not a substitution for dinner. We encourage you to make new friends at the reception and then explore the city as a group for dinner.
Day 2 (Saturday): Hackerspace
Hackerspace is a new, special event at the Ubuntu Summit that brings together like-minded people who share common interests and knowledge. This fun and hands-on event starts immediately after day 2 of the Ubuntu Summit and will run for 2 hours during which food and beverages will be provided.
The agenda of each room is decided by each group who owns a hackerspace room. There is no forced event-style schedule. Instead an agenda and some goals can be sufficient for a group to hack at their projects, get things done, build some roadmap and improve the way the collaborate and contribute to open source projects.
Day 3 (Sunday): Closing Party
On the final evening we will be having a closing party to celebrate the conclusion of the Ubuntu Summit! Join us for one last hurrah with all the Summit participants. Beverages of all kinds will be served, and we will be providing a buffet-style dinner. The closing party starts right after day 3 of Ubuntu Summit.
