Description
RISC-V is a fast growing CPU architecture. This talk will give you an overview on what is driving the RISC-V eco-system. We will look into RISC-V profiles and extensions and the resulting challenges for the development of the software. Finally the hard and software support in Ubuntu will be discussed.

John is VP of Segment Marketing responsible for SiFive’s strategy and ecosystem engagement across different end markets, including consumer, server & automotive. He is currently a board member of RISE and engaged with multiple workstreams in RISC-V international.
John has over 25 years experience in the technology sector, including time spent working on various embedded software products. He was at Arm for 8 years in several VP level roles, including leading product management for their CPU product line.
